Bridging assistance for students extended

Students in emergency situations caused by a pandemic can also apply for a grant for September at the Studierendenwerke
The bridging assistance for students who are in particularly acute need and directly dependent on assistance as a result of the corona pandemic will be extended. Affected students can also apply for the bridging assistance in the form of a non-repayable grant from their Studentenwerk or Studierendenwerk in September. Federal Minister of Education Anja Karliczek explains:
"Many people in Germany suffer from the direct and indirect consequences of the corona pandemic. This includes many students who face financial shortages due to the pandemic - for example, because their part-time jobs have been cancelled due to the pandemic or because their parents are no longer able to support them to the same extent as before.
In order to cushion the need for students, we have put together a comprehensive aid that includes adjustments to BAföG as well as a bridging assistance with two safety nets consisting of the KfW Student Loan and grants".
