Successful TÜV recertification in dining department

To ensure that guests and employees feel comfortable and safe in the dining halls of Studierendenwerk, the dining department regularly has its quality and safety standards carried out. This was also the case at the end of the year: After the first TÜV certification of the quality management in 2015, the colleagues can now be pleased about the successful recertification for the second time!

The "recertification TÜV audit of quality management in the dining department" is a lengthy procedure that the dining department of Studierendenwerk must undergo every three years in order to be allowed to continue the TÜV certificate. From kitchens to warehouses to changing rooms, all areas of the facility are meticulously inspected for compliance with the required DIN standard. Regular surveillance audits serve as preparation for this inspection phase.

Whereas in 2015 all dining facilities were inspected for hygiene standards, occupational safety and processing procedures, during recertification the TÜV (German Technical Inspection Association) evaluates individual StW dining areas on a random basis. Mensa Academica, Mensa Vita, Mensa Eupener Straße and Mensa Jülich were inspected. The quality and development department was also inspected. Head of Dining Department Arnold Mattes praised the good performance of his teams: "A great job - every single person contributed to the success. Not a single deviation was found - so all 'examinees' passed the recertification excellently."
