Experience study and research: Open Day at Campus Jülich

Research strength, local ties and an international atmosphere: three features that characterize the Jülich campus of FH Aachen. On Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 10 am to 3 pm, the three faculties of Chemistry and Biotechnology, Medical Engineering and Technomathematics and Energy Technology will open their doors to all interested visitors for one day and offer an insight into the degree programs, laboratories and institutes. Afterwards, the student councils invite you to the free open-air concert Burning Campus. The event will take place on Campus Jülich, Heinrich-Mußmann-Str.1, 52428 Jülich. Registration is not required and admission is free.
While the sparks fly at the high-voltage and high-current technology “Tesla coil and induction gun live!” and the hands-on experiments at the Science Circus on the campus forecourt make a lot of noise and fizz, guests can find out more at "CO₂-neutral structural change through bioprocesses: Biorefineries for the use of renewable raw materials", guests will learn how waste materials can be used sensibly as an alternative to fossil raw materials. In the lecture “Controlling computers by thought: What's behind brain-computer interfaces?” or “A secret: solar lasers – James Bond on a mission for sustainability”, science that is often perceived as abstract becomes a tangible experience.
In addition to attending these and other lectures, guests can also explore the laboratories on campus and try out exciting experiments and tests for themselves. The scientists will be available all day to answer questions about their research, studies and life at Jülich.
The Open Day is a good opportunity for interested visitors to get an overview of the wide range of degree programs and vocational training opportunities on offer. The application phase for the coming winter semester runs until August 31 for Bachelor's degree courses with open admissions and until July 15 for degree courses with local admission restrictions.
The Studierendenwerk will also be on site with an advice stand. Our dining hall will also be open on Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm on the occasion of the Open Day and will offer visitors snacks and hot meals. The meals are not offered at the student rate.
