Name change due to transidentity

Early opportunity to change names for transgender student at RWTH
On 9 July 2019, the rectorate conference of RWTH Aachen decided to give people whose identity gender is not yet like the legal gender the opportunity to change names in advance. The person affected needs to have already put in an application for the change of the name or gender identity according to Transsexuellengesetz (Gender Recognition Act) as well as present a Ergänzungsausweis der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Transidentität und Intersexualität (dgti e.V.) (Additional Identity Card according to the German society of transidentity and intersex). This reform appears to be an improvement of the living, studying  and working conditions and the equality of opportunity for transgender people.
