Eating & Drinking
New dates Mensa Backstage

How do you cook for several thousand guests every day? How are the ingredients processed in a large kitchen? How much effort does it take to comply with hygiene regulations? Anyone who is a daily guest in a university dining hall may certainly have asked himself these or similar questions more than once.
These questions will soon be answered: In June, the Studierendenwerk will once again be offering all interested students a public tour of the Mensa Academica's storage and production facilities. Behind the scenes of the heart of the main building on Pontwall, there will be an insight into the work processes as well as the preparation of the food. The tour will be led by the facility's kitchen manager, Daniel Wahlen.
The tour will take place on Wednesday, June 7, at 3 p.m. in the Mensa Academica at Pontwall 3. Parallel to the German-language tour, a tour in English will be offered. A maximum of twelve people can take part in each tour. There will be a waiting list, and if interest is high, the tour will be repeated.
Important: Participants will receive a confirmation of registration by e-mail. This will be sent after reaching the maximum number of participants in the coming week. If you do not receive an e-mail, you will be on our waiting list and may be able to move up.
