Olympic promotion in dining halls
The Olympics in Rhineland area? That would be something! The citizens will decide—they can vote on the matter as part of a citizens’ referendum until 19 April.
Seventeen cities along the Rhine and Ruhr are jointly bidding to host the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036, 2040, or 2044. Cologne is the lead city. With existing and temporary sports venues, extensive event experience, and the broadest citizen participation of all bidding regions, the goal is to create Games that offer athletes the biggest stage for their greatest moment. Aachen is also right at the forefront, of course as the ideal venue for equestrian sports at the Tivoli.
We find this topic particularly exciting for Aachen and are especially looking forward to hearing from our students here. As part of a dining hall campaign week in collaboration with Hochschulsportzentrum, we’d like to explore the topic in more detail and offer some culinary highlights: In April, our chefs will be serving up our “Olympic-Brötchen”, Printen porridge, a burrito bowl, and an “Öcher Burger,” among other dishes. In addition, on 15 April Hochschulsportzentrum will have a promotion in Mensa Academica to provide students with plenty of information about the Olympic bid. It’s also worth checking out our Instagram: There you’ll find our Olympic quiz, where you can win 3 x 25-euro dining hall vouchers!
